Sarasota Memorial's new Radiation Oncology Center, part of the Brian D. Jellison Cancer Institute, provides greater access to comprehensive cancer care and cutting-edge treatment for those in Sarasota and Manatee counties who are battling cancer.
Because cancer affects more than a patient’s physical health — it takes toll on mental and emotional health as well — the center was designed to deliver radiation therapy focused on the whole patient by integrating advanced radiotherapy technology with wellness features, such as a serenity garden and supportive services suite.
State-of-the-art Technology: The Radiation Oncology Center is equipped with Varian RapidArc TrueBeam linear accelerators, which are known as the gold standard in radiotherapy technology because they direct high-beam radiation with pinpoint precision. TrueBeam radiation therapy is faster and more accurate than other systems. For patients, that means a more comfortable experience and fewer side effects.

At the Radiation Oncology Center, patients have on-site access to dedicated counseling, patient navigation, financial counseling and other support services. There is also a serenity patio that features a peaceful garden, soothing waters and inspiring messages for those battling cancer.
