Interventional Radiology
Many conditions that once required surgery now can be treated with interventional radiology (IR) procedures. Using X-rays, MRI and other imaging technology to advance a catheter (narrow tube) in an artery or other area of the body, IR procedures can resolve medical issues non-surgically.
The minimally invasive treatments offer less risk, less pain and less recovery time compared to open surgery, plus many can be performed on an outpatient basis, eliminating or reducing hospital stays.
Interventional radiologists are board-certified physicians who specialize in minimally invasive, targeted treatments and have diagnostic and clinical experience across all specialties.

Neurointerventional Radiology
Working closely with neurologists and neurosurgeons, neurointerventional radiologists use microcatheters, stents, balloons and similar devices to diagnose and treat stroke, aneurysms, vascular malformations and tumors of the head, neck, brain and spine.
