Thoracic Surgery Team
At SMH, we believe that collaboration is the key for delivering the very best comprehensive care and treatment for our patients.
To that end, our thoracic surgery team works closely with medical and radiation oncologists, pulmonologists, and many other specialists and supportive care clinicians to provide exceptional, customized care. Our thoracic surgeons also are active participants of SMH’s Lung Cancer Review Board, a team of cancer specialists who meet weekly to review patient cases and work together to determine the best treatment strategies.
Cardiovascular-thoracic surgeon Paul Vesco, MD, specializes in minimally invasive and robot-assisted thoracic surgery for benign or cancerous conditions of the lung, chest and esophagus. Among the handful of cardiothoracic surgeons who pioneered robot-assisted technologies, Dr. Vesco’s skills further strengthen and diversify the range of robotic and minimally invasive thoracic and esophageal surgical options available to our patients.
