Rehabilitation Pavilion Highlights
Private Inpatient Rooms: The rehab center features 54 totally private, inpatient rooms housed on two floors. For patients who need continued physician or nursing supervision, our acute-care inpatient program offers guests complete medical care and emergency services at a fully accredited facility.
Outpatient Therapy: The pavilion's outpatient rehab center provides a comprehensive array of treatments for everything from ankle sprains to traumatic injuries. Certified physical, occupational and speech-language therapists treat patients recovering from strokes and other neurological disabilities, joint replacement, spinal conditions and sports injuries.
Outdoor Mobility Garden: A fall prevention and therapy tool, the mobility garden offers patients a real-world practice field for navigating varying types of terrains — whether walking or in a wheelchair — up inclines, down ramps and around obstacles. They also can practice retrieving items from a mailbox, spraying a garden hose, navigating a wet surface and trying their hand at the putting green.
Leading-edge Therapy Technologies: The Rehab Pavilion features state-of-the-art gymnasiums and therapy areas, as well as the latest therapeutic technologies and programs, including Bioness, Ekso, Lee Silverman Voice Therapy (LSVT) Loud, LSVT Big and videostroboscopy.
Real-world Readiness: Each patient floor includes an apartment designed to help patients learn how to maneuver in a home environment, allowing them to practice getting in and out of a regular bed or shower/tub, using kitchen equipment and navigating around furniture.
Easy Access: The Rehabilitation Pavilion has a dedicated, covered parking area and a dedicated entrance / dropoff area.

Comprehensive Stroke Rehabilitation: An integral part of the Neuroscience Center of Excellence, Sarasota Memorial has been nationally certified and designated by the state as the preferred provider of medical care to local stroke patients in Sarasota County. The Joint Commission has given the program its “Gold Seal of Approval,” which means we have the specialized knowledge, skills and technology in place to provide people with the best possible stroke care in our community.
Neurological Rehabilitation: Our multidisciplinary outpatient neurological rehab programs work with people recovering from stroke, spinal cord injury, or brain injury, and those managing neurologic conditions and disorders, including MS, ALS, and Parkinson Disease. Customized treatment plans may include physical, occupational, speech therapy and other specialized services designed to help each patient meet individual goals.
Oncology Rehabilitation for Cancer Survivors: Comprehensive, custom cancer rehabilitation treatments help cancer survivors physically and emotionally heal from the side effects of chemotherapy, radiation, surgery or other cancer therapy, with treatments designed to manage pain, weakness, cognitive impairment or other issues that follow cancer treatment. The program focuses on improving not only symptoms, but also personal wellness and quality of life through nutrition, exercise, relaxation and educational services.
Orthopedic Rehabilitation: Sarasota Memorial’s skilled physical and occupational therapists work with each patient to develop a care plan that might include specialized therapies and exercises, customized equipment or orthotics, and pain management.
Cardiopulmonary Rehabilitation: Outpatient cardiac rehabilitation is a comprehensive program that includes carefully prescribed exercise, education and counseling to help patients recognize and modify risk factors. Our pulmonary rehabilitation program includes similar components of monitored exercise, education and support with the goal of stabilizing symptoms of their asthma, emphysema, cystic fibrosis, chronic bronchitis or other condition.
