This month, our Thrive in the Kitchen team shows you how to make a Vitamin C-packed, immune system-boosting Strawberry Banana Smoothie. Perfect for a refreshing snack or a healthy way to start your day, this tasty treat is also high in fiber, Vitamin D and calcium — great for bone health and lowering cholesterol.
Chef's Tips
- You can use fresh or frozen fruit for this recipe. Frozen fruit will keep the smoothie cold and reduce the amount of fluid you need to add in.
- Add your favorite protein powder or nut butter to the recipe to boost your protein intake.
Strawberry Banana Smoothie
Serving size: One 8-ounce smoothie
Total prep & cook time: 10 minutes
Ingredients
¼ cup apple juice
¼ cup almond milk
¼ cup ice
½ banana
½ cup strawberries
Preparation
Place all ingredients in a blender, and blend until smooth.
Serve chilled.
